POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
|
|
|
The Department of Journalism, Communication and Theatre seeks applicants for a tenure track appointment as Associate or Full Professor for New Media in journalism and mass communication. The successful candidate will teach multimedia journalism (reporting, writing, and producing across media platforms); will demonstrate experience at the cutting edge of interdisciplinary developments in the field of new media and multimedia studies; and will coach students in the use of print and electronic software that will alow them to merge communication fields to convey effective messages. Knowledge of a second language a plus.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
|
|
|
Earned Ph.D. or equivalent with 5 years of significant experience preferred. Professional multimedia experience and knowledge of advanced digital software are preferred, as is a documented record of effective teaching. Teaching excellence and a high level of student engagement are preferred.
