POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:

York College is in the midst of exciting restructuring and growth, as our slogan “On The Move” illustrates. With new programs and centers of excellence being developed, we are seeking to expand our cadre of outstanding and student-centered faculty to help enrich the academic environment in which students learn and grow.

Instructional responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced physics courses. The successful candidate must be committed to teaching and will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program involving undergraduates. Faculty participation in the CUNY Ph.D. program in physics can be accomplished through the CUNY Graduate Center. The department is well-equipped for both teaching and research.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

An earned Ph.D. in physics or a closely related area is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in both teaching and research.
