POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

The Department of Health Professions seeks an experienced visionary nurse educator with a distinguished record of academic leadership and scholarship to join its growing complement of nationally-recognized academic programs. The candidate will serve as the Director of Nursing Programs and will be responsible for general management and oversight of the nursing programs and faculty.

Responsibilities also include student advisement; developing a written evaluation plan for the nursing program; interdisciplinary collaboration with professional colleagues, community organizations and accreditation organizations; mentoring faculty in teaching, scholarships and research; teaching; department, college and community service.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS



The successful candidate is required to have an earned doctorate (PhD, DNSc, EdD or equivalent) from an accredited institution in nursing or related field; Masters or Baccalaureate degree in nursing, if doctorate is not in nursing; five (5) years demonstrated administrative experience; record of leadership and/or scholarship with current research agenda; and experience with accreditation process and licensure exams. Candidate must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State. Experience with online/distance education is a plus.
