POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

With new programs and centers of excellence being developed, we are seeking to expand our cadre of outstanding and student-centered faculty to help enrich the academic environment in which students learn and grow. We are seeking an experienced nurse educator for classroom and clinical teaching of major courses in our RN/BSc and generic baccalaureate programs, including Research, Management/Leadership, Community Health and Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice and Fundamentals of Nursing. Successful candidates are expected to play a critical role in the implementation of the newly developed generic program. Other responsibilities include student advisement and counseling; service on program, departmental, college-wide and university committees, involvement in scholarly activities with a solid research agenda and participation in other duties appropriate to rank.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
|
|
|
Doctorate, preferably in nursing, or an appropriate master’s degree and specialized experience required. The successful candidate will be eligible for or posses a NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in addition to having a minimum of 3 years of current teaching experience in an accredited nursing program, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Experience with the accreditation process; instructional technology and on-line/distance learning a plus.
