POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

Brooklyn College seeks an innovative, forward-thinking, collaborative, and highly experienced enrollment professional to serve as Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM). Reporting directly to newly appointed President Karen L. Gould, the VPEM provides senior leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive enrollment management strategy that is aggressive, responsive to new trends and markets, and consistent with the goals, mission, and resources of the College.

Viewed as a central college priority, Enrollment Management enjoys significant support from the College’s president and provost, as well as from key college leadership, faculty, current students, and alumni. The new VPEM is expected to capitalize on this support with vigor, innovation, an inclusive leadership style, exceptional communication skills, and informed judgment.

The VPEM bears responsibility for the full range of enrollment management, including recruiting, graduate-level application processing (CUNY handles undergraduate application processing centrally), financial aid (CUNY handles packaging centrally), continuing education, the registrar’s office, and a staff of 123 FTEs across nine offices, with an operating budget of $5 million. Over $60 million in federal, state, and municipal financial aid is awarded to Brooklyn College students each year. The VPEM is expected to work closely with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Affairs. The VPEM sits on the president's cabinet and is a member of the senior leadership team of the College.

Brooklyn College, a senior college in The City University of New York (CUNY), offers a picturesque campus setting in a vibrant and thriving urban environment. Home to nearly 17,000 students this fall, Brooklyn College provides rigorous, stimulating academic programs for diverse and motivated students, many of whom are first-generation college students. Providing both undergraduate and graduate degrees in the arts and sciences, business, and education, along with a premier honors program and an array of extracurricular activities, Brooklyn College students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the global workforce or graduate school. Brooklyn College takes pride in its diverse student population, which brings rich cultural perspectives and tremendous creativity to the educational environment and the campus community.
