CUNY plays a vital role in educating the professionals who serve and lead New York. Its highly ranked graduate professional schools and programs specialize in preparing students to work in the urban environment, dealing with complex issues that cross multiple areas of study.

Towards this end, students in CUNY’s professional programs take courses that combine content and perspectives from related fields. They also can create a specialized degree or concentration by taking courses in related professional programs. Internships and field study are integral to most programs.

CUNY’s urban professional students reflect New York’s wide diversity. Most are working adults who bring to class broad experience in the field of study or in a related realm of urban service. Classes usually are held in the evening or on weekends to accommodate working students.

Graduates of these programs are at the front lines of every major challenge confronting urban America. They work to ensure public safety and health, spur economic development, design the urban landscape, deliver government services effectively, improve the public schools, and manage businesses that generate jobs.

CUNY’s graduate professional schools and programs are located on CUNY campuses across the City. Application is made to individual graduate programs at the colleges.

We invite you to explore the broad range of choices available across the University. Just click on any program listed above for a description, links to course listings and program pre-requisites, and an application form.
